On April 8th, 2025, the FRAME Foundation proudly launched the international project DEAP – Developing Emotional Awareness and Participation through the Arts in Poland. The event was filled with warmth, creativity, and meaningful encounters, hosted in partnership with the School for the Visually Impaired in Łódź, which welcomed us with open arms.
The day’s program offered a rich and engaging variety of activities:
A workshop on inclusive education, led by Dr. Adam Gogacz, expert and trainer from the FRAME Foundation, explored practical tools and perspectives for building an accessible and welcoming educational environment.
Hands-on ceramics workshops with master ceramic artist Ewa Ber from the Zbychewka studio allowed participants to immerse themselves in tactile creation, bridging communication and expression beyond words or vision.
A presentation of the DEAP project’s goals and methodology was delivered by the project’s national coordinator, Katarzyna Kasznicka, introducing participants to the mission of DEAP and its plans for empowering visually impaired youth through the arts.
The event also featured an exhibition of ceramic works created during previous international trainings and local workshops held within the FRAME Foundation’s earlier project C.A.R.E., which focused on developing psychosocial skills through art for people with visual impairments.
One of the most moving aspects of the day was the collaborative spirit between younger and older students during the ceramic workshop. This powerful moment of intergenerational exchange was a beautiful example of how creativity can unite people of different ages, backgrounds, and abilities in a truly inclusive environment.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the students, teachers, and leadership of the School for the Visually Impaired in Łódź for co-organizing the event and for their warm and generous hospitality. It was the perfect place to begin our Polish DEAP journey – a space where professionalism meets empathy, and where inclusive education becomes a living reality. This is just the beginning!
